William E.O Arthur, 88, died January 16, 2012 in Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. William lived in Asbury, NJ for the past 2 years, previously he lived in Whiting and Newton, NJ and was born in Teaneck, NJ on December 9, 1923.
William was the son of the late William Henry and Henrietta nee-Studli Arthur. He is predeceased by one son the late Wm. Terry Arthur and his wife of 58 years, the late Sybil nee-Bagley Arthur who was a British soldier. She worked on an anti-aircraft gun site in London and in 1945 received a King George Medal for her service to England during the war.
William is survived by 5 sons: Wm. Kim Arthur, Wm. Tobin Arthur, Wm. Kris Arthur, Wm. Kyle Arthur, Wm. Kip Arthur, 1 daughter - Kerry Sybil (Arthur) Arbolino, 11 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, and his daog named Beau.
Mr. Arthur was the National Catastrophic Accounts Coordinator for AIG Insurance Co., New York City, NY. He served in the United States Army Air Corp. stationed in Grafton-Underwood, England B-17 Bomb Group.
William was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wayne, NJ; member of Gem-VAC Veterans, Glen Gardner, NJ; he enjoyed gardening and was a boxer in his younger years. He was a graduate of Fork Union Military Academy; Casey Jones School of Aeronautics; Syracuse University for Aerial Photography.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
