I am so sorry to hear of Joanie’s passing. My family grew up with Joanie as neighbors in Budd Lake. We have many fond memories as kids and playing the James family. She always was so sweet, had immeasurable strength and had such a positive outlook on Facebook to the point I had no idea her illness had progressed to this level. My deepest sympathy to all.

We extend our most heartfelt condolences to Gary, Katie, Meghin and their family members. We first met Joan in 1999, when Howie coached Meghin’s youth softball team. We knew back then that she was one of a kind! Later on, when Meghin ran cross-country with Lindsay, Joan was their most exuberant supporter, always there to cheer them on to the finish line. Fond memories of a very enthusiastic, gritty, and unique lady. May she rest in eternal bliss, free from pain, void of strife.

Our sincerest condolences to you Gary, Katie and Meghin. Joan will never be forgotten, her optimism and enthusiasm for each and every day was contagious and admirable. We’ll never know someone like her again. I loved how she would wake, shower and get ready every morning for whatever came her way, always up for anything. One of my favorite memories has to be Joan using the WAZE app to alert Sandi of upcoming potholes, the laughs we would have..it didn’t seem to make a difference if we were going to the casino or going to a chemo day, it was going to be a nice, fun day filled with kindness and laughs…that was Joan. I miss you Joanie, I know I always will. You will always hold a special place in our hearts, Love Tracey, jack, Jeremy, Jennifer and Jessica Britten
