It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Helen Marie Staugaard at the age of 95 from natural causes. Helen was born in Belvidere NJ and spent her childhood years near the Delaware River. She was the last surviving child of Ivel and Harry Hannon. Helen was married to Andrew C. Staugaard for 59 years and raised four children in Hackettstown NJ. Upon retirement, they relocated to Slateford, PA, and spent many years once again on the Delaware River. Their final move was to Kimberling City, MO. After Andrew passed in 2005, Helen remained at their Missouri home and spent her final years at Maples Rehabilitation Center in Springfield MO., where she was attended to by her granddaughter-in- law, Sarah Staugaard. Helen will be lovingly remembered and missed by her son Andrew Staugaard of Kimberling City MO. and daughters Sandra DiLeo of Hackettstown NJ, Jo Ann Staugaard-Jones of Andover NJ, and Kathleen Hansler of Surfside Beach SC, nine grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Cochran’s Funeral Home in Hackettstown, NJ on Monday August 10, 2020 at 10:30 am followed with a service at 12 p.m. Helen will be buried next to her beloved husband in Oxford Cemetery. The funeral home and family requests that face masks be worn, and social distancing be observed.
