Smethers, Sandra June 11, 1961 - May 4, 2022

Sandra Smethers, age 60, of Hackettstown passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.  Sandra was born June 11, 1961 in Canton, OH.  She is the daughter of Irene Beatrice (Lazoran) Krueger and the late Eugene Harold Smethers.

Sandy loved any adventure and was a HUGE Bruce Springsteen fan. She was an excellent cook, loved a good time and always enjoyed her family and friends. She also adored her special cat, Pumpkin.

She is survived by two sons, Robert and Brian DeMattio, her mother, Irene Krueger, her brother, David Smethers, her sisters, Fawn Lewis, Debra Welch and Patricia Lazoran.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 21 from 10am until 12 noon at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. A celebration of life will begin at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Stroke Association would be greatly appreciated.

    So sad to hear about Sandy. My deepest sympathies to Brian & Robert and all Sandy’s family.
    Sandy was a dear friend to me when I lived in NJ & we worked together in Long Valley.
    Sandy was a great worker always and showed me the ropes. She adored her boys and they always came first. Enjoyed our day trips to Jersey Shore and lots more. I am forever grateful for all Sandy did for me as a friend having a Wedding Shower for me and a fun surprise going away party when I moved to Chicago.
    Sandy will be in my heart forever and I will always remember her as a wonderful Mom and a very dear friend.❤️🙏❤️
