Deborah Nancy Albanese (nee Connolly) passed unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, August 6th, 2022. She was only 81 years old.
Pre-deceased by her parents William and Frances Connolly, infant son Andrew Michael Albanese and nephew Christopher Connolly. Debbie leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years James Albanese, their daughter Doretta Cerciello and husband Dale, one grandson Joseph Cerciello, her brother George Connolly and wife Martha, and niece Elisabeth Connolly Shelton.
Born in Englewood, NJ, Debbie was raised in Livingston and was a graduate of Livingston HS class of 59. She earned her associates degree at County College of Morris. She spent her 40 year career as a legal secretary working for top executives at Warner Lambert, Riker-Danzig, CCM and Liberty Mutual.
Debbie was proud to be an accomplished knitter, seamstress and ultimate crafter. She delighted in creating gifts and clothes for family and friends, each one always made with love.
Already a cancer survivor, Debbie had recently learned that she had to take up the battle again. Ever aware of the odds, she surprised us all with a renewed sense of vigor and purpose and met her battle head on and on her own terms. Her most recent days saw her enjoying family, her knitting and most importantly, her dignity. Cancer ultimately claimed her body but never her dreams or her spirit. Her departure from this life was but a whisper and without fanfare, as Debbie was ultimately a true lady…and a lady always knows when to leave.
Care has been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, New Jersey 07840 with a graveside service on Saturday August 13th, 2022 at 12 noon, at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown NJ.
In lieu of flowers, please kindly make a donation to the American Cancer Society, Wounded Warriors or an animal shelter of your choice.
