Settineri, Peter, Jr. April 2, 1934 - December 16, 2022

Peter Settineri, Jr., age 88, of Phillipsburg, NJ died peacefully Saturday, December 16, 2022 at home.  Peter was born April 2, 1934 in Newark, NJ to the late Peter, Sr. and Anna (Tomasheski) Settineri.  He was the adopted son of his uncle, Joseph Settineri.  In addition to his parents Peter was preceded in death by his three sisters, Florence Hartigan, Anabelle Wright and Phyllis Cupo.
He was previously employed by United Parcel Service (UPS) upon his retirement from UPS, Peter became a Mechanical Engineer for GEC Marconi, Whippany, NJ retiring from there several years ago.  He was an accomplished accordion player and keyboard artist.  Peter had his own wedding band for many years called “The Twilighters” playing with his best friend and drum player, Chris Russo and the saxophone player, Ruddy Stetter.
Peter is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Mary (Maenza) Settineri, his oldest  son, Vincent Settineri and fiancé, Beth Wingle, his two loving daughters, Anna M. Capra and husband James, Diane Callahan and husband Don, Sr., his youngest son, Peter Settineri and wife Ann Marie, sister, Joanie Polon,  eleven grandchildren, Vincent Settineri, James Capra, Anthony Capra, Diana Jacobo, Donald Callahan, Jr., Tyler Callahan, Christopher Callahan, Danielle Carpenter, Nicole Callahan, Peter Settineri, Kristina Settineri, seven great grandchildren, Olivia, Chloe and Kenzie Carpenter, Nicolette, Auriana and Jonathon Jacobo, Ana Bella Capra and  many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 3 – 7 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Mary, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 1 pm, burial will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ.

    My Wife Robin and I were so very saddened to read of your Dad’s passing.
    Memories of the Old Kenwood Neighborhood come to mind, and another original ending their tour of duty on this side of life.
