Francis Joseph McCaffrey, 80, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2023 at his residence. He was born October 5, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Francis Joseph McCaffrey and Mary Elizabeth Lee McCaffrey.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick McCaffrey and Arthur McCaffrey; and step-son, Sean Albanese.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria J. McCaffrey of Myrtle Beach, SC; one son, Michael McCaffrey and partner, Angela of Hackettstown, NJ; one daughter, Christine Miller and her husband, Bill of Great Meadows, NJ; one sister, Veronica Howard and her husband, Art of Leland, NC; and grandchildren, Jason Miller, Allyson Miller, Joey McCaffrey and Michael McCaffrey.

Francis proudly served in the United States Army. He was honored to be able to walk the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

He owned and operated Hackettstown Flooring in New Jersey for many years.

A funeral mass will be held at 12:00pm Friday, June 23, 2023 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Burial will follow at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens, 65 SC-90, Little River, SC 29566. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home.

The family has requested that memorial donations be made in Francis’ name to the Alzheimer’s Association, https://act.alz.org
