Anita Gloria Pivirotto passed October 14, 2023. She was born April 7, 1943 in Clifton NJ. Her mother was Elda DeMarco Pivirotto, and father Placido Pivirotto.

Anita was a talented pianist and painter. She attended Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venezia Italy, as well as the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. She played piano and sang her beloved jazz in several bands in Italy and New Jersey.

She worked for many years at the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy. After retiring from there Anita worked part time at the Orange County Correctional Facility in the filing department. She continued her passion for art and music and enjoyed listening to and sometimes playing with local musicians in the Warwick area. Anita was passionate about her family history and genealogy. She was an avid local historian. She did research and wrote numerous articles about historical homes for the Warwick Valley Dispatch.

Anita liked to cook and was always eager to share her latest tips and recipes. Her rum cake was a crowd favorite at Christmas Eve parties, and her pizzella was tasty perfection.

She had a sister Marie Licht who passed in 2008. She is survived by a niece, Jean Wright and nephew Thomas Licht, several cousins and many friends. There will be a celebration of her life sometime near her birthday in the spring of 2024.
