Winters, Patrick S. March 19, 1940 - February 14, 2024

Patrick S. Winters, age 83, of Hackettstown died Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at home in Hackettstown.  Patrick was born March 19, 1940 in Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland to the late Patrick and Sarah (Dowling) Winters.  In addition to his parents, Patrick is preceded in death by, his two brothers, Peter and Thomas Winters, a sister, Julia Bullock, two brothers-in-law, James “Bear” Thomas and Edward McFadden, and a sister-in-law, Veronica Winters.

 

Patrick was the Owner of Mary Ann’s Sub shop in Florida for many years before his retirement.  He and his wife worked side by side at the deli for many years, both being known to make one hell of a sandwich.  In addition he was an avid sports enthusiast, most especially he was a big fan of golfer, John Daly.  He was a devoted family man, a dedicated and loving, husband, father and grandfather, his greatest admirer and playmate was his grandson, David.

 

Patrick is survived by his wife: Mary Ann (MacLean) Winters, two sons, Patrick Winters, Ryan Winters and wife Sierra, two brothers William Winters and wife Judy, John Winters, three sisters, Maise McFadden, Josephine Thorlenaar and husband Francis, Theresa Barbarisi, sister-in-law, Beth Thomas, brother-in-law, Ceasar Bullock, grandson, David William Winters, granddaughter, Hollis Evelyn Winters; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20 from 4-8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 21 at Church Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father Damian Tomiczek officiating.  Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows following the mass.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 in memory of Patrick.
