William Labonak, Jr., age 84, of Hackettstown died Thursday, October 3, 2024 at home. William was born March 18, 1940 in Jersey City, NJ to the late William and Mary (Dutka) Labonak, Sr. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Mai Labonak in 1999.
William served proudly in the US Marine Corp from 1958 to 1964. William retired from the NJ State Police, Trenton, NJ, as a Lieutenant serving for 27 years from 1964 to 1991. He was an avid NY Giants fan and loved fishing and hunting with his buddies.
He is survived by his son, David Ricciardo and wife Theresa, a sister, Joyce Nice and husband Wayne, two grandchildren, Joshua and Cassidy Ricciardo and a niece, Kristin Lukaszonas and husband Mike and a nephew, Gregory Nice and wife Shannon.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 4-7 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on October 9, 2024 at 11 am followed by the burial at Tranquility Cemetery, Tranquility, NJ,
The family would like to thank Ennoble Care Hospice for their dedicated care of William for the past 6 months, they will forever be grateful for their endless compassion.
