Evan P. Esposito

July 26, 2005 – April 17, 2025

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Evan P. Esposito, age 19, of Hackettstown, NJ, who left us far too soon on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Born on July 26, 2005, Evan was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. A 2023 graduate of Hackettstown High School, Evan was pursuing a business degree at Siena College, where he was beginning to shape a future full of promise.

Evan was the beloved son of Gregory Esposito and Angela (Fattorusso) Esposito of Hackettstown, and a cherished big brother to Dominick and Addison, roles he embraced with endless love and care. Evan was predeceased by his grandmother, Virginia Fattorusso, of Hackettstown and is survived by his grandfather, Enrico Fattorusso, Sr., of Hackettstown; grandparents Patricia and William Stefanczyk, formerly of Saddlebrook; and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him deeply and will carry his memory forward always.

An avid sports fan, Evan proudly supported the New York Mets and Green Bay Packers, and his enthusiasm for the game extended to everyone around him. Two of his favorite memories were traveling with his mom to Lambeau Field to see the Packers play in person and going on the unforgettable Packers Cruise — moments he treasured deeply. He had a gift for bringing people together—whether it was organizing cornhole, bucketball, or Kan Jam tournaments during family camping trips (complete with 3-D printed trophies), or creating Fantasy Baseball and Football leagues and patiently explaining the rules to newcomers.

Evan cherished the simple joys of life, like playing poker and video games with his friends, where laughter, competition, and good company always made for unforgettable memories.

He had a special talent for finding ways to connect family and friends, often showing up with a new music or movie game that brought smiles and laughter. He deeply valued family traditions, especially cooking alongside loved ones—learning to make Easter pies, gravy with braciole, baccala salad, crabs, lobster and eggplant parmesan with his Pop Pop.

Vacations with cousins, Disney trips, and camping adventures were some of his favorite times, and through it all, Evan’s humor, kindness, and bright spirit made every moment more joyful.

He was not only a loving brother to Addie and Dom, but also to his beloved pets—Rosie, Otis, and Hemi, who were constant companions and part of his heart.

Evan will be remembered for the warmth he brought to others, his playful spirit, and his unwavering love for his family. His absence leaves a hole that can never be filled, but his memory will be cherished always.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 302 High Street, Hackettstown NJ 07840 at 11:00am.  The viewing will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ 07840 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ 07840.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.  stjude.org.

    Dear Esposito Family and Friends,

I had the pleasure of teaching Evan in the fall of 2023. He was one of 20 first-semester freshmen adjusting to their new lives at Siena College. Any college student will tell you that college is great -except that first semester when you are still learning how to do college. Evan stood out among his classmates as a bright, disciplined, and quiet person. He was a calming presence in a room full of anxious freshmen. I really appreciated him, and I enjoyed watching him learn and grow and adapt to college life. It grieves me deeply that he is no longer with us. I pray that his family, friends and beloved pets will have all the grace and love they need to endure this difficult loss. All God’s Blessings to you.
