Forrest George Vander Vliet, age 76, of Port Murray, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.

Born on February 6, 1950, in Paterson, NJ, Forrest was the beloved son of Marie (Corrado) Vander Vliet and the late Forrest John Vander Vliet. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen (VanAcker).

Over the course of over 40 years, Omnitek, Inc in Hackettstown, NJ, was uniquely developed by Forrest and his partner Al Baldauski. It was here where they developed technical products with precision and integrity. Forrest’s work ethic and general commitment to excellence were remarkable, which allowed his business to thrive. With generosity, he deeply cared about his employees – never forgetting to maintain his sense of humor and friendly nature.

Forrest is survived by his devoted wife, Stephanie (née Cordasco) Vander Vliet; his loving mother, Marie Vander Vliet; his brother, Gary Vander Vliet; and sister in-law, JoAnn. He leaves behind a cherished family: Megan (Bhaskar), Matthew (Evlyn), Colton (Roslyn), Bill (Megan), and Christopher (Ann). Forrest was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren—Maris, Avia, Rowan, James, Torin, Dean, and Teo. This family, along with a multitude of friendships and relationships, are what he truly loved in life.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, with Father Tristan officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Union Cemetery, Long Valley.
