Carol L Marshall, age 88, of Oxford, NJ, passed away at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ, on May 12, 2026.

Carol was born in Orange, NJ on Jan 4, 1938, to the late John Todd, of Plymouth, PA, and Catherine Laning Todd, of Trenton, NJ.

Carol graduated from Westfield High School in New Jersey in 1956.  She married Matthew G Marshall, of Ballymena, Northern Ireland in Plainfield, NJ, where both her children were born.  The Marshall family moved to Hackettstown in 1965.    In 1976, Carol met her life partner, William F Gnazzo, who remained by her side, until her passing.

Carol was a gifted self-taught artist, working in many different media.  In the early 1970s, she took up weaving; and large looms and satellite spinning wheels entered the house on Center Street in Hackettstown, where the Marshall family lived for many years.  Shortly thereafter, she became the resident Weaver at Waterloo Village in Stanhope, NJ.

In the 80s and 90s she became an accomplished painter; and worked in both water colors and oils.  Additionally, In the 80s, Carol worked at North Atlantic Industries in Hackettstown, forming many strong friendships.  In later years, she worked in needlepoint, rug hooking, and knitting, as well as home décor and arrangements.

Her works, in some cases, were purchased by notables, from galleries in NYC.   But mostly, they were generously given to friends and family members.

She also loved to travel, especially to Europe; and visited Poland and France and Switzerland multiple times.

Carol is survived by her partner, Bill Gnazzo, one daughter, Leigh Parsons (and husband Tim) of Cape Girardeau, MO, and one son, Rob Marshall of Bethlehem, PA, her brother John D Todd (wife Christine) of Magnolia, MA, four grand-children, R Colin Marshall, Caroline Marshall, Colton Parsons (and wife Rachel), and Hassey Parsons (and husband Mike Adelsberger), and two great-grandchildren, Winter and D’Angelo Adelsberger.

No public memorial services are planned.  A Celebration of Life will be held privately by family members at a future date.
