June Leonora (Larsen) Fredericks passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the age of 93. A vibrant and faithful woman, June lived on her own in her home in Hackettstown and was frequently visited by her children Laura Petrie (Ed) and Stephen Fredericks (Lori). She hosted many family gatherings for her six grandchildren – James Peterson (Cathy), Joanna Scarangello (John), Jillian Petrie (Jeff Regentin), Stephen Fredericks, Jr. (Maureen), Ben Fredericks (Katie), and Emma Schneider (Dan). For holidays, pool parties, and casual visits, June’s house was always filled with lots of love, laughter, and good food. In later years she also welcomed her four great-grandchildren – Luke Scarangello, Reid Scarangello, Marika Fredericks, and Savannah Peterson. These people were the joy of her life.

June was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Les Fredericks. Together they had enjoyed travel and a host of friends, as well as extended family. They both were involved in Lutheran churches throughout their married lives, beginning with their marriage in St. Stephen’s Church, Brooklyn, and most recently in Grace Lutheran Church in Mendham, New Jersey. Their membership and attendance included their service. June was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, council member, altar care member, and a participant in a quilting circle. Her church life was very important to her, and she valued the many friends she made through her church.

Known for her big hugs, her listening ear, her sage advice, and her strong opinions, June had a warm heart and a quick sense of humor. She was a ‘force of nature’ to all who knew her, and she will be missed.

Visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 4 pm – 8 pm.

A church service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 65 East Main Street, Mendham, NJ, 07945 on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11 am.  June will be laid to rest beside her husband in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 85 Pleasant Hill Road, Chester, NJ 07930.
