Richard W. Agne, loving husband, father and Pop Pop passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026 in Newton, NJ.  He lived to the impressive age of 93.

Richard was born in East Orange, NJ on July 7, 1933.  He attended Irvington High School, served in the Army from 1953-1955 and worked for PSE&G before retiring as a supervisor in 1996.  He and his wife Ellen put down roots in Hackettstown in 1973.

Richard is survived by a daughter, Christine Lepinski, and two grandchildren, Hannah and Aaron.  He is also survived by his brother Thomas Agne, sister-in-law Karen Agne, and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was predeceased by his wife Ellen, his parents Douglas and Gladys Agne, and brothers Robert Agne and Douglas Agne.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.

The funeral will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Chaplin Mario Spadaro officiating.  Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 following the service.
