Vera Catherine Apgar (Ur), aged 88, formerly of Newark, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. She was born November 25, 1934, from parents Dorothy Ur (Toncic) and Joseph Ur. She was the oldest daughter and second oldest child out of her nine siblings. She fell in love and married her next-door neighbor, Richard Apgar, on March 12, 1955. They had two children, Debra Faria (Apgar) and Donna Stahl (Apgar). Vera worked at the Bell Telephone Company for 32 years, until she retired to help take care of her grandchildren, Tyler and Tess Stahl. She is predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Joseph, her husband Richard, and her siblings Joseph, Mary Frey (Ur), and William Ur.

She is survived by her children, Debra and Donna (and spouse Paul Stahl); her siblings (and their spouses): Eleanor Nagy (Ur), Daniel, Phyllis Manziano (Ur), Robert, and Thomas Ur; her grandchildren, Tyler and Tess Stahl and adoptive grandchild Adam Ellis; and finally, by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends at Cochran Funeral Home (905 High Street Hackettstown, NJ) on Monday, February 27, 2023, from 4 – 8 P.M., and funeral to follow on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, starting at 10:30 A.M.
