Caslyn Jennifer Edmondson July 31, 1960 - April 5, 2020

Caslyn Jennifer Edmondson was born July 31, 1960. She grew up in Georgetown, Guyana and was raised by her mother and father, Norma Codrington and the late Fitzherbert Codrington. Caslyn originally wanted to become an electrician and therefore, attended Guymine Trade School in Linden, Guyana. She earned her certificate in electrical engineering in 1980. During that time, Caslyn met George at a friend’s house party. After that day, they were inseparable. George would leave Georgetown and visit Caslyn at school almost every weekend. They managed a long-distance relationship. On December 18, 1982, George took Caslyn as his bride and continued to live in Georgetown. In 1983, Caslyn and George brought Germain Edmonson into this world. Two years after, George Jr. was born, then, Gavin in 1988. After many years, Caslyn and George moved to the United States and gave birth to their last son, Glenn, in 1998. Caslyn sons are her pride and joy!
In the late 1990’s, Caslyn decided she did not want to experience another electrical shock again and therefore, began to explore her interest in nursing. Caslyn realized that nursing was a gift that God gave her. She became a certified nursing assistant (CNA), then a license practical nurse (LPN). Soon after, Caslyn passed her state board exam to become a Registered Nurse (RN). She cared for her patient’s day and night. At the time of her passing, Caslyn was employed by House of Good Shepherd, Hackettstown, NJ as a RN.
Caslyn developed a burning desire for a stronger relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She began to look for churches. She spent a lot of time at a catholic church, until one day she found a flyer for the River of Life Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Melvin Travis. She asked her husband if he wanted to attend church with her. George said “nope” and went home to watch soccer. The shock on Caslyn’s face was priceless, however, she continued to pray and encourage her husband to attend service. Eventually, George attended service and before he knew it, he began to develop his own personal relationship with God. Caslyn was a kind-hearted, courageous, pleasant, confidently outspoken, and encourager not only to her husband but for her entire family.
Caslyn is survived by her loving husband, George Edmondson, Sr.; Her sons, Germain Edmondson, George Edmondson, Jr., Gavin Edmondson and Glenn Edmondson; Her Mom: Norma Codrington; Her five grandchildren, Trinity, Tyler, Aaron, Noah and Damian; Her sisters, June Codrington- Kole, Denise Blackman, the late Gillene Trotman, Shelly, Sharon, Shawn,  Joy, Judy, Anthony and Ann. Condolences to the immediate relatives of Caslyn. She was a kind hearted and loving person who was always there for those close to her. Her professionalism as a RN was of the highest standards. She is a fallen good citizen in this battle against the virus. For me, she is a heroine whose humanity has always well known. Today she is in the arms of Angels. May her Soul Rest in Peace.
