Esther Helen Cox, age 98 of Hackettstown New Jersey passed away on June 2nd 2025.
Essie was born September 5th 1926 in Factoryville, PA. the daughter of the late William and Amelia Deremer. She was preceded in death by her husband Boyd S. Cox and her three siblings, Ralph, Willard, and Marion, and nephews William and Thomas, and nieces Nancy and Sally She is survived by her many nieces and nephews.
After High School graduation, Essie and her husband lived in Washington, N.J. and moved to Thompson, GA. Upon her husband’s passing, she moved back to Hackettstown, N.J. to Heath Village where she was a resident for over twenty years.
Essie was a woman of extraordinary heart and faith. Her door was always open, and her arms were always ready to welcome others. She will be known for her love of family & friends, needlepoint, gardening, arranging flowers, and cooking for her family. Essie was also an extensive traveler. Some of her destinations were, Australia, England, The Holy Land, Germany, and all over the United States.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Heath Village and Trinity United Methodist Church for their compassionate care and friendship through the years.
The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 213 Main Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Rev. Debra A. De Vos officiating.
