Born April 29, 1992
Amanda Mykland Cruts was born to Albert and Laura Cruts. She loved the outdoors. Every chance she got she would go for a walk along the stream near her house. She often told the story how a trout swam right next to her and she caught it with her bare hands. Amanda was a beautiful friend who spoke her mind and could talk to anyone.
She attended Blairstown elementary and middle school and North Warren High School. Most recently she worked as an assistant manager at the Dollar General.
She is survived by her fiancé John Goicoechea and son Elijah Albert Goicoechea; Father Albert Cruts, Jr; sister Rebecca Cruts; Uncles, Larry Cruts, Michael Cruts, and Earl Cruts; and Sally Knight, Aunt.
She is predeceased by her Mother Laura Cruts; brother AJ Cruts; grandparents Albert and Alice Cruts, Elsa and Jay Oland; and Uncle David Cruts
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Hackettstown, 298 Main Street Hackettstown, at 11 am on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Donations can be given to the church in honor of Amanda.

October 31, 2025 at 5:33 pmAmanda, hearing of your passing has shattered my heart.
You were there for me through the storms and the sunshine — through my darkest nights and my brightest days. You stood beside me as the witness at my wedding, held space for me and Kyle when life was unbearably heavy, and loved Anthony like the best auntie you were , letting him fill his little arms with treasures from the dollar store, laughing the whole way through. I’m so glad I got to talk to you last week, I will hold our last talk with me until we meet again!
I’ll miss you endlessly — the sleepovers that turned into heart talks, the late-night phone calls where we’d say “just five more minutes,” the quick liquor store runs that somehow lasted hours because I wanted to stop and scratch lottery tickets , and all the silly Snapchat pictures I’d make you take with me just to make you roll your eyes and smile.
Please, my friend, watch over your beautiful baby boy, your dad, and your sister and all your close friends that are hurting tremendously right now . I know your mom and your brother were waiting with open arms, ready to welcome you home in heaven. You were taken from us far too soon, but it seems you were needed up there more than down here! :/
Until we meet again — I’ll carry your laughter, your light, and your love with me. Your bright smile will live forever through your son, a piece of you shining in this world still. 💔🕊️
