In loving memory of Rosemary DeCostanzo (Feller) of Allamuchy, NJ, who passed away peacefully two days before her 83rd birthday on August 1, 2025, at Complete Care at Brakeley Park in Phillipsburg, NJ.
Rosemary was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on August 3, 1942. She is the daughter of the late Norman and Martha Feller of Denville, NJ. She is survived by her brother Donald Feller, sisters Margaret (Feller) Mazzei and Christine (Feller) Sabo, her nephew, Vincent Mazzei, her friend and former spouse, Lou DeCostanzo, and her beloved canine companion, Benji.
Rosemary’s life was characterized by service to others. She was well known for her kind and generous heart, her love of animals, and her devotion to Christ and his church.
She graduated from Bayley Ellard High School in Madison, NJ, and obtained advanced degrees at Rutgers University, which she applied in a life-long vocation to help the less fortunate.
She travelled extensively, her calling bringing her to serve in many capacities in many countries. For several years she served on a Native American reservation in South Dakota, helped the poor in New Mexico, and became a Physician’s Assistant in Colorado. Her vocation led her to years of service in Kenya and Yemen where she ministered to women and children in need. More recently, she obtained a master’s degree in Catholic theology and served with the Archdiocese of New York, where she supported and assisted placing foreign missionaries for the church.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 48 Tranquility Rd, Andover, NJ. Burial will follow the service at the Saint Joseph Church’s Cemetery, Newton, NJ.
