Date of Funeral

October 16, 2025
Suzanne Marie DeLorenzo 70 passed away on Saturday morning October 11, 2025, at the Lopatcong Center Phillipsburg NJ. She was a resident there for seven years.
Suzanne was born October 30, 1954, in Newton NJ. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Gladys (Jennings) DeLorenzo. She was preceded in death by her sister Nancy (DeLorenzo) Sisco, and her brother-in-law Michael Gesner.
Suzanne was a graduate of Hackettstown High School class of 1974.
Suzanne is survived by her sister Janet (DeLorenzo) Gesner and her brother Thomas DeLorenzo and her brother-in-law Frank Sisco.
Suzanne is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Robert Sisco, Ronald Sisco and Christi (Sisco) Donahey and her husband Darvin.
David Gesner and his wife Renee, Tricia (Gesner) Muller and her husband Scott.
She is also survived by her beloved great nieces and nephews, Tarissa (Gesner) Rinier, Kayla (Sisco) Barry and her husband Dr. James Barry, Kyle Sisco and his fiancé Brianne Olsson. Madison (Sisco) Sigoda and her husband Brett, Breann Sisco, and Abigail Sisco.
There were so many people who helped Suzanne achieve a great life, our late Uncle Dr Marshall Metzgar who was the first to notice there was a problem with her head, it was hydrocephalus, water on the brain, at that time it was often a fatal prognosis! Fortunately, he knew a surgeon who was trying a new procedure to drain the fluid. She was one of the first patients to undergo the placement of a shunt to drain the fluid. The surgery was a success, but she had to relearn how to walk. Our mother worked extensively with Suzanne to help her learn all that she had lost.  Suzanne was able to graduate from high school in 1974 and worked in the food service industry, but her true gift was helping her siblings as an au pair to raise her many nieces and nephews.
Suzanne had a sunny and happy disposition and as she got older and her health declined she attended the first medical adult day care in Warren County NJ called the Comfort Zone started by Ann Grogan, it was a great resource and Suzanne loved to interact and get to know everyone there. Sadly, the program abruptly closed. When she needed more care, she went to the Lopatcong Center she was there during COVID but survived that nightmare thanks to the dedicated staff and the tireless leadership of the administrator John Kasarda.
Recently Suzanne’s health declined and she ended up in the hospital and then hospice care at the Lopatcong center. She tried to make it to her 71st birthday but passes away October 11, several weeks before her October 30th birthday. Thank you to the Lopatcong Center staff and hospice care
