Thomas E. Dolan III, 80, of Basking Ridge, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Morristown Hospital. Born on May 4, 1945, in Orange, NJ, Tom was the beloved son of the late Thomas E. Jr. and Anna May (Mohl) Dolan.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. A skilled craftsman and entrepreneur, he founded and operated Thomas Dolan Masonry in East Hanover, NJ, where his dedication and artistry left a lasting mark on the community.
A man of deep faith and vibrant spirit, Tom lived life with passion and purpose. He cherished time with family and friends, finding joy in simple pleasures—riding his Harley, cheering on baseball and football games, and attending horse races. Above all, Tom’s greatest devotion was to his family, whose bonds he fiercely protected and nurtured.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Michael, sisters Patricia Pizzicaroli and Fayetta Dolan, and brother-in-law Emmett. Tom is survived by his loving sister Karen Bailey; nephews Michael Bailey (JoAnne), Scott Bailey (Laura), and Thomas Bailey (Melissa); and niece Donna Bailey (Charles), ten great nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love and loyalty.
A private entombment of ashes will be held at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morristown, NJ on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:30 am.
