Dolce, Anthony R. (Tony), 94, of Hackettstown, New Jersey, passed away on October 29, 2022, at the Hackettstown Hospital. For 70 years, he was the devoted husband of Theresa Dolce, his childhood sweetheart who shared not only his hometown of Providence, Rhode Island, but also his birthday on January 2. Sadly, Theresa predeceased him earlier this month.
Tony was strongly committed to his family and community. He was a person of deep faith. He leaves three daughters: Laura Jordan and spouse Thomas Jordan of Andover, Massachusetts; Anne Dolce of Arlington, Massachusetts; and Marie Dolce of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren: Haley and spouse Michael Brandon of Wakefield, Massachusetts, and Marianna and spouse Justin Campbell of Chicago, Illinois; and one great grandchild, Lyla Brandon.
Tony was a graduate of Providence College, majoring in Chemistry. He spent his career in the wire and cable industry. Initially, he was in manufacturing before entering sales in 1969, where he spent the bulk of his career. He was a natural at sales, stating at one point that “since entering sales, I never worked another day in my life.”
In 1988, Tony retired from BP Performance Polymers as VP of Sales and Marketing. The following year, he founded T&T Marketing. When he retired from T&T at age 85, he claimed his 25 years with this company were the best of his career. T&T Marketing was eventually purchased by M. Holland Company in 2017, and to this day, most of the core staff has remained intact.
Tony served in the Navy and was discharged in 1952. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfonsina Rufrano Dolce and Antonio Dolce; and sisters, Rose Maxwell, Tina DiPippo, and Amelia Iannuccillo.
Tony was an outgoing person with a positive outlook. He always offered a kind word to friends and strangers alike. His favorite hobbies were following the Yankees and all things investments. For many years, he enjoyed going to baseball spring training in Tampa. He enjoyed nature and held fond memories of many years spent at the ocean in Narragansett, Rhode Island. He will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 4-6 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 9:30 am at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 48 Tranquility Road, Andover, NJ followed by the entombment of ashes in the Good Shepherd Cemetery, Andover, NJ.
