Dziergoski, Richard Michael July 19, 1952 - February 23, 2023

Richard Michael Dziergoski, age 70, of Andover, NJ died Thursday, February 23, 2023 at home, surrounded by his family after his courageous battle with cancer.  Richard was born July 19, 1952 in Newark, NJ to the late Chester and Mary (Sroka) Dziergoski.

Richard served in the Navy from 1972 to 1975 during the Vietnam War.  He was employed by MRP Solutions, Somerset, NJ as a Tool & Dye Maker.  He was a devoted volunteer EMT for the past 31 plus years with the Allamuchy Green First Aid Squad. Where he was a past Captain, in addition to being a Lieutenant and known to everyone as “Operator 1”. Rick was an avid NY Giants fan, enjoyed going for motorcycle rides, volunteering for his town and his favorite line was that he was a “Pillar of the Community.” Rick had a love for life and was always so easy going. He loved the simple things in life; family, friends, and the most incredible neighbors.  Rick will be missed by so many but especially his family. He will now forever be OUR sunshine, even on the rainiest of days.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Irene (Field) Dziergoski, a brother, Robert Dziergoski, his  son, Christopher Dziergoski and wife Dena, his daughter, Michelle Smith and husband Steven, 6 grandchildren, Victoria, Makayla, Blake and Landon Dziergoski, Caleb & Braiden Smith and one on the way, he has a niece, Stephanie Field and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, March 4th at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 48 Tranquility Road County Route 517, Andover, NJ with Father Timothy Dowling officiating.  Burial will be in Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery following the mass

Visitation will be Friday, March 3rd from 4 – 8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Allamuchy Green First Aid Squad, PO Box 25, Tranquility, NJ 07879

      Although I didn’t know Rick well I always appreciated knowing there was an EMT living at Lake Tranquility. I remember him at lake activities as a fun loving & gregarious person. My sincere condolences to Rick’s family.
