Earwood, Patsy November 16, 1939 - March 6, 2023

Patsy Earwood lived her life as an amazing force of nature until the day she passed away on March 6, 2023, at Heath Village in Hackettstown NJ at the age of 83, with her family by her side in her final hours.

All that had the privilege of being part of her life knew Patsy as a creative and unique soul, with an immense work ethic rivaled only by her love of her family. She performed random acts of kindness, spoke to strangers with ease, and was a shining example of intelligence, grace, and determination.
Born in 1939 in Huntington, WV, Patsy was a voracious reader and loved to learn. She then lived in a number of states from North Carolina to Iowa and Massachusetts before settling in New Jersey in the late 1960’s. Patsy raised her family while working in a variety of occupations, in manufacturing, as a Census taker, a Jeweler’s assistant, a realtor, and Macys Stylist and Salesperson. Her free time was spent shuttling her children to activities, growing flowers, fresh vegetables, and fruits in her gardens, volunteering on the PTA, reading or doing crafts such as stained glass and crocheting.

Patsy was DIY before there was such a thing, using her passion for home renovations and decorating to create a beautiful welcoming home in Hamburg for her family and friends and pursued an Interior Design education at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art. She was also passionate about Broadway musicals, fashion and jewelry, travel, Christmas collections, and chocolate. Some of her best memories were made on family vacations that she would plan each year to historical locations, theme parks, or her favorite destination on the Jersey shore, Cape May.
After being diagnosed with a rare blood cancer in the early 1990’s Patsy continued to live her life to the fullest, overcoming each heath obstacle to be part of her children and beloved grandchildren’s daily lives, dedicating herself to be there for her family for every milestone, big or small, and was a constant source of support and love.
In her later years she relocated to Mountain Lake in Warren County, purchased a fixer upper and poured her gift for home design into creating a haven for her grandchildren to spend time with her, playing Uno, watching videos and making their favorite foods. Patsy’s family was her biggest priority and joy, and she instilled in them her values for hard work, integrity, and most of all, unwavering love.

Patsy is survived by her son, Keith and daughter-in-law Karen, daughter Molly, daughter Arianne and son-in-law Anthony, son Joshua and daughter-in-law Erin, and five precious grandchildren – Jayme, Emily, Sophie, Logan, and Gavin, as well as several other loving relatives and friends. Patsy also had a special relationship with her sister-in-law, Virginia Earwood, and they traveled together on several great adventures.
Patsy requested only a simple family gathering after her cremation. The family wishes to express their gratitude and thankfulness to all of those who cared for Patsy and have expressed emotional support for all of us. Donations in her honor may be made to the Friendship Fund | Located in Northwest New Jersey Heath Village – a multi-denominational Christian retirement community
where Patsy lived for the past two years.  She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Cochran Funeral Home, Hackettstown. NJ.
