Barb was a wonderful person who was a good and caring friend who I met in 1994 when she moved into the townhouse next door to me. She and I shared many good times together at Christmas when we got together and all the days we spent talking on the phone, our shopping trips, and the companionship we shared. We had a lot in common and Barb was a very talented artist and an excellent elementary school teacher. She was the older sister I never had. I will miss her very much.

Barbara was a very good friend. She was a kind, caring person who loved her family, art, flowers, journaling, books, travel, Willow her cat and many more things. We met when we both were teaching at Knollwood School, in Lake Hiawatha. A wonderful First Grade teacher, Barbara once told me that she loved how free and honest first graders were. She enjoyed watching as they would hold hands and giggle as they skipped happily in the hallways. Being a dedicated reader herself, Barbara instilled in her students a love of reading. She would select a children’s author, illustrator or seasonal topic and devote several weeks to reading related stories, while expanding the theme through art and craft projects. Barbara was a very talented artist, who could sketch and paint. She was so very knowledgeable about artists and their techniques, while appreciating all types of art, that walking through a museum with her was like having a private guide. At one time Barbara and I were into crafting and spent many hours in Michael’s and other craft stores selecting Crewel, Embroidery and Counted Cross Stitch projects, which we worked on and conversed about continually. Barbara even branched out at one time and began making jewelry, specializing in earrings. We traveled together countless miles going to craft fairs, art shows and taking trips. I remember fondly traveling with Barbara to visit the Biltmore Estate in North Caroline, Disney World in Florida and an eventful summer going through many countries in Europe. Barbara and I had many adventures, shared much laughter and enjoyed some great experiences. Barbara was a dear friend whom I shall miss.
