Joan F. Faust, 79, died on April 13, 2024, with her loving family at her side. Joan was a devoted wife, widowed at the age of 19, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wonderful friend to many throughout her life.
Joan was born to the late John and Nora (Nevin) Carolan in New York City where she spent her childhood, frequently vacationing to and ultimately moving to the heights of (lake) Hopatcong. Joan met her husband, Russell W. Faust (Sr.) and married in 1962. Russell passed very unexpectedly in 1964, and never had the chance to meet their son, Russell W. Faust (Jr.), named in his honor. During life, Joan spent her career in retail at Bamberger’s then ultimately Macy’s until her retirement in 2016. Joan enjoyed spending any downtime surrounded by family, especially during the summertime, with days spent by the pool, at the beach, or taking some of her favorite day trips to amusement parks, aquariums, and zoos with her grandkids. Joan also loved spending time with her rescue dog, Jack, a Jack-Russell terrier.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Russell, sister Jean Marie, parents John & Kathryn Carolan, Nora (Nevin) Sciaretta & Noel Crystal, son Russell’s partner (Adell), granddaughters Nicole and unborn baby girl. Joan is survived by her two children, Renee (William) Harding, and Russell Faust. She also leaves 4 grandchildren: Jessica (Anthony) Zotto, William (Christina) Harding, Timothy (Larissa) Harding, and Brianna (Nick) Pilosi; 5 great-grandchildren (and counting): Mason, Logan, and Adell Zotto; Rylee and William Harding.
