George Allen Powers, age 76, of Hackettstown. George entered into the House of God on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.  George was born October 16, 1943 in Newton, NJ. He is the son of the late Ralph and Hazel Mae (DeGroat) Powers. Also preceded in death by his brother Ralph “Vickie” Powers.

He grew up in Sussex county NJ farming his whole life. He worked for Pequest Dairies in Allamuchy, NJ for over 30 years.  After retiring he worked for Drakes Acres of Allamuchy, NJ and Mark Allen Farms in Port Murray. He enjoyed “gallivanting “around the old neighborhood visiting with friends.  Always tending to family graves brought joy to him.

George is survived by four sons; Kevin (51) of Hackettstown, NJ, Greg (49) of Watertown, WI, Tim (46) of Hackettstown, NJ,   Kyle (41) of Watertown, WI and his former spouse, Estella (Whipple) Powers of Nicholson, PA, a grandson Taylor (20) of Watertown, WI, Survived by sisters, Margie Ann Lines of Succasunna, NJ, Janet Niestrand of Leighton, Pa, a brother, Dave Powers of Montana and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, June 1, 2020 from 11am – 12:00 pm (restrictions will be applied) at Cochran Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows on Monday following visitation.
