Seth E. Harris, Jr. December 17, 1970 – May 3, 2025. It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Seth E. Harris, Jr. age 54, of Alpha, NJ, who left us to join his parents on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Seth was born on December 17, 1970, in Dover, NJ. He was the son of Seth E. Harris, Sr. and Norma J. (Phillips) Harris of Hackettstown, NJ. He is survived by his sister Sheri A. (Harris) Billows and husband John Billows of Great Meadows, his nephew and niece, Matthew and Madison Billows of Great Meadows and stepbrother, William Randall Harris of New York.
Seth grew up in Great Meadows, living on the dairy farm where he helped his father (Pal). He loved caring for the cows, calves, pigs, horses and his donkey, Jack. He was adventurous, enjoying riding his bike and 4-wheeler throughout the farm. Very structured and set in his routine, Seth would often sit in the jeep and beep the horn to remind Seth Sr. it was time for lunch or dinner.
His adventurous sense of self persisted in his adult life, finding joy within traveling. He enjoyed many cruises to Bermuda, trips to Florida, Wildwood to watch the Monster Truck shows, and Cape May with his family.
Seth moved to Alpha, NJ in 2010 after the passing of his mother. He found a sense of belonging living at the Alpha Group Home who in turn became his chosen family. They enabled him to pursue his hobbies and passions of fishing, biking, Special Olympic competitions, bowling, dancing and playing basketball.
Seth left a lasting impression on everyone he met. With his infectious personality, he always made new friends wherever he went. And everyone always remembered Seth. We would like to say thank you to Seth for teaching us how to love, how to accept, and most importantly how to laugh and be happy. We will live loudly in the memory of you.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home in Hackettstown, NJ. A private burial for family will be held on Thursday.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church- 213 Main St. Hackettstown, NJ 07840 in Seth’s memory.

May 6, 2025 at 4:14 pmI am writing this with a heavy heart to express my deepest condolences on the passing of Seth. During the time I spent as his caretaker, I came to know not just a man under my care, but a truly kind and gentle soul who left a lasting impression on me.
Seth had a rare ability to make people feel at ease. From the very beginning, we got along incredibly well, and our bond grew into something I will always cherish. His warmth, quiet strength, and good humor made each day brighter, and it was an honor to be part of his life.
Even in challenging moments, Seth carried himself with grace and dignity. He taught me more than I could have imagined about patience, resilience, and the beauty of a compassionate spirit. I will carry his memory with me, and I feel deeply grateful for the time we shared.
Please know that you are in my thoughts during this time of sorrow. May the memory of Seth’s kindness and the love he shared bring comfort and peace to all who knew him.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Giovanni

In my mind you are driving the golf cart with Jack and Mikey sitting shotgun. Peace be with all of us my friend. And, until we meet again, keep dancing.
