Merrill Hill, 82, of Shartlesville, Pa. passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 in the Laurel Care Center, Hamburg, Pa. Born in Newton, NJ, Merrill was the son of the late Frank M. & Genevieve Hull Hill. Merrill has been a resident of Shartlesville since 1995 coming from Hackettstown, NJ.
Merrill worked as a Coca-Cola salesman and distributor for 21 years in New Brunswick, NJ. After his retirement, Merrill took a part time job at MRD Lumber of Bethel, Pa where he worked for several years.
He was of the Presbyterian faith and an avid hunter over the years.
Merrill is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marilyn Shoemaker Hill at home. One son, Brian Hill and his wife, Lisa. One daughter, Lynn Pursell and her husband, Charles. One brother, Alvin Hill and his wife Peg of Origsburg, Pa. He was a proud Grandfather of Five and a Great Grandfather of five. Merrill was predeceased by one Brother, Lynn M. Hill & two sisters, Beverly Johnston and Janice Hill Martin.
A visitation will take place on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ.
