Hoffman, Peter February 15, 1952 - March 9, 2025

Peter Richard Hoffman, passed away at Cerenity Senior Care in White Bear Lake, MN on Saturday March 9, 2025.  Formerly from Hackettstown NJ, Peter was born Feb 15, 1952, at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck NJ to George A Hoffman MD and Mary. Frances (Edwards) Hoffman. Mary Frances died in childbirth leaving 3 small children and newborn Peter. Two years later, Dr. Hoffman married Margaret Mary Loucks, RN and together they lovingly raised 7 children till their passing in 1981 and 2013.

He loved fishing and his summers going up to Fair Haven NY on Lake Ontario with his family as a kid and then later taking Mary and Bobby up there to vacation, after growing up in Leonia NJ, he enjoyed going into NYC to see many Broadway shows.

He attended St John’s School in Leonia and graduated from Ramapo High after his family moved to Franklin Lakes NJ.

Growing up, his family had numerous German Shepherds but as an adult, his loves were his Golden Retrievers Rex and then Max.

Before moving to MN in 2022, he lived in Hackettstown NJ for over 20 years where he owned and operated his local business, Busy Bee Services.

Peter leaves behind wife of 45 years, Mary Kay Whalen Hoffman in Cambridge, MN and son, Robert Peter Hoffman and his wife, Lindsay Rassmann of North Branch, MN.

Peter was predeceased by his sister, Diane M. Niland (NJ).

Survived by siblings, Robert G Hoffman (AL), Kathleen M. Melucci (NJ), Margaret V. (Karen Leach) Hoffman (NJ), Richard T. (Danuta) Hoffman (IA), and Elizabeth J. (David) Sherpey (NJ), plus numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

Arrangements are with Mueller Funeral Home in White Bear Lake MN and Cochran Funeral Home in Hackettstown, NJ. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 11 am.
