Ryan Douglas Jarvis December 15, 1989 – April 26, 2025 Ryan Douglas Jarvis, lifelong resident of Great Meadows, passed away Saturday April 26, 2025.

Ryan was born on December 15, 1989 in Hackettstown, NJ. He attended Centenary Children’s Center, St. Mary’s School, and Hackettstown High School where he made lifelong friendships. He was a foreman employed by McPhee Electric and a member of IBEW Local 102. He loved his job and line of work. Ryan was known for his gentle and kind demeanor. He had a strong sense of advocacy for people with disabilities, coming from his personal experience with his brother Sean. Ryan loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting with the Cat Hollow Rod and Gun Club, pheasant hunting at the Clark Farm, and going to the camp in Pennsylvania. He was a proficient trap shooter, traveling twice to the Grand American Trap Shoot in Ohio. He loved to ride his ATV and snowmobile. Ryan had a love for spending time on the water and shared many memorable escapades jet skiing and boating with Chris Colson and his clan, whom he considered as second family. He had many adventures including canoeing the Allagash River, rafting the Grand Canyon, kayaking in Belize, Dog Sledding in the Boundary Waters. He shared so many of his experiences with Malinda Mattar, who passed away in 2018, leaving Ryan devastated. He was very detail oriented, which was sometimes enough to drive someone nuts! He was a deep thinker and strategist, making his mother crazy when playing games. Most of all, he was devoted to his family, friends, and coworkers. He was a gentle bear, loved and respected by all who crossed his path.

Ryan is survived by his loving parents, Patricia Douglas-Jarvis and Wayne Jarvis. He was predeceased by his brother Sean Jarvis. Ryan was blessed to grow up with wonderful grandparents, Alice and Robert Jarvis(both deceased), Thomas Douglas(deceased), and Helen Douglas. He had an extended family including Aunt Eileen Douglas-Baker, Uncle Rich Baker, Uncle Gary T. Jarvis, with cousins Teghan Baker, Liam Baker and Gary R. Jarvis.
