Kielb, Marguerite April 23, 1942 - June 1, 2025

Date of Funeral

June 14, 2025

Marguerite Kielb lived a full live. She was born into a large loving Irish family to Margaret and Patrick Leane in 1942.  She grew up in Jersey City with her sisters, Marian Kelly and Patricia Gardner and brother Thomas Leane. She was married to Stephen Kielb and raised her two boys, Stephen and Richard, in Long Valley, NJ.  She was Captain and lifetime member of the Long Valley First Aid Squad and manager of medical offices, but most importantly, she was a giant in her community. She made friends easily, and those friendships lasted a lifetime.

She was known by many as Marguerite, Maggie, Marge or Grammie, but none of those were her most commonly used name.  Her fellow EMTs, the police officers in Long Valley, and many of the (now adult) children who she cared for simply called her “Ma”.

Ma  was a pillar of strength and support for everyone who knew her. You could always count on her to help you out of a jam, whether it was a small inconvenience or a major crisis.

Ma was an exceptional listener, always ready to lend an ear and offer wise advice. Her honesty and straightforwardness were qualities that everyone admired and she possessed a remarkable strength, both in mind and heart that inspired those around her.

Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she had a knack for making great meals that brought people together.

Her legacy will live on through her brother, Thomas, her son, Richard and her grandchildren, Ethan, Connor and Makenzie.  And a whole lot of other people who called her “Ma”.

She will be deeply missed.

There will be a funeral mass on Saturday June 14th, 2025 at Our Lady of the Mountain Church in Long Valley, NJ at 11:00 a.m.  A luncheon will follow at the Long Valley First Aid Squad.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be sent to the Long Valley First Aid Squad at https://lvfas.org/  or via check to PO Box 521, Long Valley, NJ 07853.
