Edward G. Knauer, age 73, of Long Valley, NJ died Thursday, December 5, 2024 at home in Long Valley.  Edward was born June 25, 1951 in Plainfield, NJ to the late Arthur Henry and Helen Marie (Worth) Knauer.

Edward had many occupations: estate caretaker, chauffeur, limo driver, cook, and truck driver.  He moved to Oregon in 2000.  There he went to school to be a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) and retired from that position in 2015. He then moved back to New Jersey.  He was an avid fisherman and he and his brother Dan volunteered at the Pequest Trout Hatchery on Route 46, Great Meadows in their Education Program, teaching young fishing enthusiasts the art of Trout fishing.  In addition he was a photography buff, taking many photos of local wildlife.

Edward is survived by a brother,  Daniel Knauer and his wife Dorothea, a sister, Jean Bowers, and three nieces, Danielle Parsons and her husband Robert, Laura Smith and her husband Jonathan, and Chelsea Bowers; a nephew, Elijah Bowers and his wife Katherine, and 9 great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place on January 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at Long Valley Presbyterian Church, 39 Bartley Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853.
