Gloria Jean La Stella, 76, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Center in Fredon, NJ.
Gloria was born October 27, 1945, in Montclair NJ to Helen Elena Ferraro and Joseph John La Stella.
She is survived by her sisters, Marie Elena Batista, and Margaret Elizabeth Murphy; her Brother-in-law, John Murphy; her six nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews and other extended family.
Gloria deeply loved her family. Prior to her mother’s passing in 1999, she spent several years providing hands on care for her. She never hesitated. She could spend hours talking to anyone of her family members, offering advice or just listening. While she loved the company of others, Gloria was very comfortable in her own skin and enjoyed her alone time. She was a great enthusiast of tennis, specifically Rafael Nadal!
Gloria was a loyal and loving friend. Many of her friendships expanded decades. The concern for her well-being never waned and her loss is a great sadness for those closest to her.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 10:30 AM. at Our Lady Of The Mountain Church, 2 E. Springtown Rd, Long Valley, NJ with Rev. Marchin Michalowski officiating. Burial will be in Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Center.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840

August 9, 2022 at 3:06 pmI’m sorry the 7 of us were not able to meet up; however, at least, you are pain free now and at peace. I’m sure Aunt Helen and all the Ferraros were there to greet you and welcome you home.

August 9, 2022 at 5:15 pmMy sincere sympathies go out to Marie, Margie and their families on their loss. I remember spending time with Gloria Jean during our childhood years when our mothers would visit, and I have only good memories of those times. She was open and friendly and fun, and it seems she remained that way, living a full and good life, and being dearly loved.
