Robert Donald Lamb, 92 passed away peacefully in his home located at Mountain Lake, Belvidere, N.J., surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born August 7, 1930 in Easton, P.A, son of the late Harold and Beatrice Saylor Lamb.
Bob Lamb is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Otten Lamb of Mt. Lake, his daughter Cindy Lamb Weagley of Sparta, N.J. His granddaughter Jamie Weagley Lane and her husband Christopher Lane and their new born son Griffin Kenneth Lane of Maui, Hawaii. Margaret Weagley, his youngest granddaughter resides in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Robert was predeceased by his son, Donald Allan Lamb of Laguna Beach, California and sister Olive Maybn Looloian of Madison, N.J.
Bob was the embodiment of the definition of a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family. He shared his life with his wife Kathy Lamb for 70 years. Popop as he was known to his granddaughters “Jaims & Mags” enjoyed spoiling them in every way possible. He never missed any school event, Gram and Popop were always in the front row, video camera in hand. Above all, Bob loved Mountain Lake, his lake, even when he felt the geese were destroying his sacred dock. His granddaughters fondly recall memories of ice-skating on the frozen lake with hot chocolate served by Gram, collecting leaves in the backyard with Popop’s lawn mower, and snow tubing down the back hill.
Bob enjoyed skiing and traveling in his off time. He volunteered many hours with Little Derby 4-H horse club and Downhillers 4-H ski club over the years. Robert was an avid sailor on Mt. Lake with his beloved Hobie Cat as well as his pontoon boat. He also enjoyed years of skiing and traveling. Robert graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1948.
He proudly served in the United States Army reserves from 1951-1952 and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War from 1953-1954. He was an active member of the Mt. Lake Fire Department since 1963.
Robert retired from New Jersey Bell Telephone in 1995 after serving as a switchman for 39 years.
We love you Popop. You have so many friends and family with wonderful memories to look back on. We have the best angel. Thank you for everything.
