Le Manach, John E. August 1, 1933 - October 22, 2020

John Ernie Le Manach, 87, of Independence Township, New Jersey passed away at home with family near on Thursday, October 22, 2020. Born in France on August 1, 1933, he was the son of Pierre and Marie-Louise (Loriquer) Manach.

After immigrating to Canada at almost 18 years old, John eventually married, Started a family and moved them to this area in 1963. John became a Naturalized Citizen in 1973 and loved his country. John was retired from Pipefitters/Steamfitters Union Local 274 and spent many happy years of retirement with his loving wife of 63 years, Laurette (Robichaud) Le Manach, and his family.

A thoughtful welcoming guy, John loved the outdoors, gardening, caring for and roaming his property, and most especially spending time with friends and family. John was a long-time tinker. He liked the challenge of fixing something with “always” what he had on hand. During his retirement John continued his lifelong desire of learning by purchasing a computer and learning about and from it. There is nothing in this world that made him prouder than his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He could sit for hours with a smile on his face watching the little ones. If asked, we are sure he would probably say that his proudest title was “Grandpa”

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Laurette Le Manach; his loving sons Pierre Manach and wife Susan, Robert Manach and wife Robyn; his loving daughters Linda Manach, Lilliane Connaughty and husband Thomas; his loving son-in-law Lance Markowitz; his adored grandchildren, Cinnamon Querrard and wife Sabrina, Andrew Manach and wife Nazreen, Christine Briscoe and husband CJ, Samantha Markowitz and Colton Markowitz; as well as his adored great grandchildren Naomi Good, Zennabelle Manach and Sarah Briscoe. He is also survived by his friends and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased in death by his treasured daughter Sylvie Markowitz and his cherished sister Marie-Louise Raoult.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 4 to 8pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840. A funeral service will begin at 7:30pm.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Independence Police Department, 286 US Highway 46 Unit B, Great Meadows, NJ 07838 or Independence First Aid Squad P.O. Box 137 Great Meadows, NJ 07838-0137 or a charity close to your heart.

Thank You for such a beautiful daughter that
I got to share my life with.
Thank You for putting up with me and eventually
having faith. I know I would test your patience.
But hey I can be right too.
Thank You for all your help, which you were always
willing to give to any family or friend who asked
    without a seconds thought.
Thank You for all the trees in your yard; nothing
I like better than raking leaves for days and days.
You would never let us mow them because you
said you didn’t want the little leaf pieces in your house and implied we were taking the easy way out.
So rake into piles, put into tractor wagon, drive to back of property, rake leaves out of wagon and repeat over and over and over.
Why couldn’t you buy a cyclone rake. Oh I remember; I must be made of money. Well I’m getting the last word on this because you started to mow them there Leaves.
    You will be missed.
