Evelyn Marie Leopold, 76, of Yulee Florida passed away peacefully, Tuesday, 29 October 2025 , at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Evelyn Marie Wright was born 12 April 1949, daughter of the late William B. Wright and Julia Wright, in Roselle Park , New Jersey.  Besides her parents, Evelyn, was preceded in death by her sisters, Florence Kuipers, Louise Greene, Joyce Beauchamp, daughter Lea Leopold, son in law Samuel Vasquez Ramos, and niece Amy Greene.

She is survived by her brother Bill Wright, husband Gary Leopold and her son Daniel O’Connell.   She is also survived by her grandchildren British Cline, Tirzah Joyce, Aiyana Joyce, and Ashlin O’Connell, her 6 nieces, 3 nephews, and 11 great grandchildren.

Evelyn graduated Roselle Park High School, class of 1967.   She continued her education at Hood College, achieving her Bachelors Degree is Special Education.  Upon completion of her degree, Evelyn pursued her life long dream of teaching, specializing in working with Autistic Children.

Evelyn enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing, reading, travelling and walking on the beach, but most of all family.  She had a passion for genealogy which she was astounding at, as well as a avidnavigator.   

Evelyn maintained relationships with many of her friends from elementary through high school, and attended many of her high school reunions to catch up with them.

Evelyn loved talking, and was an amazing friend, Aunt, coworker and mother.  She had a passion for life, and always had a smile on her face. 

Funeral services will be held at Cochran Funeral Home 905 High Street, Hackettstown, New Jersey 07840

Viewing will be held Saturday, 08 November 2025, from 1pm to 3:30 pm, and service beginning at 4:00 pm.
