David Palentchar, age 78, of Hackettstown, NJ died on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Born in Newark, NJ, David lived in Scotch Plains, NJ where he graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.  He served as a police officer for Scotch Plains for many years, and retired in 1998.

He was pre- deceased in death by his loving wife, Jill and his loving daughter, Holly.

He is survived by his brother Richard of Fanwood, NJ and brother Glenn of Colonia, NJ and his sister Janet of Harmony, NJ and his longtime friend and companion Susan Lackey of Washington, NJ.

The family will hold a private ceremony to honor David’s memory.  He will be buried with his wife and daughter (back with his girls).
