Jane Leslye Petty, 95, of Hackettstown, left this life the 12th day of October, 2022, at The House of the Good Shepherd. Jane was born August 12, 1927, in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and grew up in West Caldwell where she graduated from Grover Cleveland High School. In her working career, she was a dedicated employee of Curtiss-Wright Corporation, Picatinny Arsenal, and the Warner-Lambert Company, of Morris Plains, where she retired as Human Resources Benefit Supervisor after a long-time career.
Jane enjoyed drawing and painting with oils and knitting in earlier years, and later traveling to Florida to visit her sister-in-law Doris and friends in Florida, and spending the winter months in California near daughter Jill and her husband. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hackettstown and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. After retirement Jane spent time volunteering at Hackettstown Library, Hackettstown Community Hospital, and at two charity thrift stores in Solvang, California. Jane was totally devoted to her children and granddaughters, and derived much of her joy in life from them. She was excited when she became a great-grandmother to her first great-grandchild who arrived in September.
