Claudio L. Ramos, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who passed away peacefully on Thursday March 13th, 2025, surrounded by family at Morristown Memorial medical center. He was 73.

He was born on August 8th, 1951 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Throughout his time in Brazil, he was an avid soccer player and worked as an airline technician at the company VARIG. He met his wife Carmen at the young age of 15 years old, and after having their three children immigrated to the US in 1987. For most of those years, Claudio had been self-employed in all aspects of the home remodeling and construction business. You may remember his early days as a pool installer, or as an installer of wood and tile floors. For a long time, Claudio had worked as a handyman and general contractor throughout Northern New Jersey.

He was known for his amazing Brazilian barbecues that included his famous homemade potato salad, salcichao, chicken hearts, delicious traditional caipirinhas (sugar cane alcoholic beverage), and steaks. He was a devoted follower of Christ, and until the end of his life he blessed everyone he met, even the nurses and doctors in his last days at the hospital. He had a playful and joking spirit, making everyone he encountered laugh, even strangers.

Claudio is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carmen Ramos. Together they raised four beautiful children, daughter Loreta and husband Joao Soares, son Fabricio and wife Sarah Ramos, and son Felipe and wife Damaris Ramos, son Samuel Russo. He is also survived by his siblings in Brazil, sister Marlene Ramos, brother Paolo and wife Neusa Ramos, sister Karen and husband Alex Luz. Claudio was also blessed with six grandchildren, with a seventh one on the way. Grandson Jonathan Soares, granddaughter Luciana Soares, grandson Joshia Soares, Justin Soares, Christian Ramos, Ayden Ramos, and Hailey on the way.

Claudio was predeceased by his parents Delmar and Maria Ramos and his sister Solange Canavea.

A Funeral Service will be held at: Grace Church on the Mount at 758 NJ-10, Randolph, NJ 07869 on Saturday March 22, 2025 at 2 pm.
