Senftinger, George April 18, 1929 - December 3, 2021

George Andrew Senftinger, age 92, of Hackettstown died Friday, December 3, 2021 at the House of the Good Shepherd, Hackettstown. George was born April 18, 1929 in Peekskill, NY. He is a son of the late Josef and the late Julianna Barbara (Koerner) Senftinger.
During World War II George was an altar boy and sexton at Saint John Chrysostom Church in Bronx, New York. He served in the New York State National Guard stateside during the Korean War.
George lived in New Milford, NJ for 52 years before moving to Hackettstown just 7 months ago. He was a Master Plumber and the Owner of Ansen Plumbing in New Milford before retiring.
Everyone in town knew George, he was always helping others, his customers were treated like family. The local bagel store was a regular stop for George. After his bagel and coffee he would hang around and help out at the shop, greeting customers and helping behind the counter. Always interested in his town he proudly served on the recycling committee. George took great pride
in his home and loved manicuring the trees and shrubs and keeping the lawn in perfect condition.
George and Ann loved ballroom dancing and were usually the first ones on the dance floor at weddings. Their home was always open to visitors who received a heartfelt greeting and a place at the dining room table. Family was most important in George’s life. He was always showing off his family through the many pictures he kept in his wallet.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Marie (Cancellare) Senftinger, a daughter, Barbara Ann Schmitt and her husband Robert, a brother, Frederick Senftinger, 2 grandsons, Peter and his wife Melissa and Richard and his fiancée Jordan and one adored great granddaughter, Vivian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Mark’s RC Church in Long Valley on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:00 am with interment to follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery in Green Township.

    Barbara so very sorry for your families loss. I will always remember your Dad as friendly kind hearted person always ready to help. He helped my mom a lot of times. Please know you and your family are in my thought and prayers. God bless
