Christopher Scott Shellman, age 42, of Woodside, NY died Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Mt. Sinai Hospital of Brooklyn, NY with his family by his side. Christopher was born August 20, 1980 in Hackettstown, NJ son of Edward and Florence (Roxbury) Shellman.
Chris was a member of Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Mary, Hackettstown, NJ and a member of the Joyce Kilmer Council 2483 of the Knights of Columbus, Hackettstown, NJ.
He is survived by his loving parents, Edward and Florence (Roxbury) Shellman,2 brothers: Edward Jr, and his wife Nadiya; Michael and his wife Mary. Nieces and nephews Matthew, Alina, Cara and Kevin.
Chris is a graduate of the Hackettstown H.S. class of 98. He played football and excelled in Basketball. He coached the Super Pee Wee team for the Tiger Football club. He was an avid Yankee and Giant fan and played basketball in the New York City Mens recreation league.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, April 15 at Church Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Mary, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father Leopoldo Salvania officiating. Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ following the mass.
Visitation will be Friday, April 14 from 4-8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
For those desiring donations may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Blvd., Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to The Knights of Columbus, Joyce Kilmer Council Seminarian Club, 142 Liberty Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 in memory of Chris.

I knew Chris from my neighborhood on the Upper East side. His friends followed him from one establishment to another when he was working at restaurants here. He was extremely popular and people just liked being around him. Thoughtfully kind and honest as well as handsome, he will be deeply missed.
