Alfonse Solomita, age 78, of Hackettstown died Sunday, January 19, 2025 at home. Alfonse was born July 3, 1946 in Newark, NJ to the late Joseph Michael and Marie Veronica (Iasello) Solomita.
Alfonse served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. He owned and operated Solo Motors, Hackettstown, NJ. Alfonse is an active member of Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church, Long Valley, NJ.
Alfonse is survived by his wife: Hilda (Brooks) Solomita, daughter, Gae Dougherty and husband Joel, son, Joseph Solomita, daughter, Alicia Solomita, son, Alfonse Solomita, four grandchildren, Heather, Jerry, Victoria and Brianna.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 23 from 4-8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Friday, January 24 at Our Lady of the Mountain Church, Long Valley, NJ with Rev. Marchin Michalowski officiating. Cremation is private.
