Terick, Regina (Kasper) October 8, 1927 - September 13, 2024

Regina (Kasper) Terick, 96, of Franklin, NC, passed away September 13, 2024, in Raleigh, NC. Regina was born in Allamuchy, NJ on October 8, 1927, to the late Anna Raciz and Joseph Kasper. Regina’s parents immigrated from Poland, starting a dairy farm in Allamuchy, NJ and later moving to a larger farm in Hope, NJ.

She grew up with sisters Tessie (Rogers), Helen (Sosnowski), and brothers, Benjamin Kasper and Chester Kasper all of whom predeceased her. Regina met her future husband, Alex (Whitey) Terick when they were just kids. Whitey eventually won Regina’s heart, and they were married at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Hackettstown, NJ on October 8, 1949. Aside from farm life, Regina worked at a hosiery mill in Hackettstown, NJ while Whitey served his country in Korea. They raised their family in Great Meadows, NJ. Regina was a supportive wife and dedicated mother, involved in her church and community. After the kids were grown, Regina and Whitey decided to take a risk and invest in developing Hidden Valley Mobile Home Park in Orlando, Florida near Walt Disney World. They transformed Hidden Valley into one of the most desirable retirement communities in central Florida with over 300 homes. Upon retirement they became snowbirds and split their time between Orlando, FL, later The Villages, FL and Franklin, NC. Growing health concerns as they aged eventually led them to move full time to Raleigh, NC to be closer to additional family for assistance.

Regina, along with her devoted husband, Whitey, delighted in having an open-door policy, welcoming visitors and always prepared with food and drinks for their guests. She will be remembered for the joy and laughter that filled her home and she will be known for her profound love of family and her boundless warmth and friendliness. She was equal parts caring, selfless, strong-willed, energetic, yet deeply attentive to serving the needs of those around her. She was the person everyone wanted to talk to, known for her attentive listening, warm comfort, and unwavering support.

Even at the age of 96, Regina loved to dress up fashionably, wearing jewelry, and having her hair done at a salon almost every week of her adult life. She loved listening to music, playing cards, Polka dancing, traveling, entertaining, socializing, and bird watching.  She cherished Polish family traditions, and her two wishes were for the family to maintain these traditions and to always remain close. Regina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took great joy in being “Bachi” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all her family.

Regina passed only a few weeks shy of her 97th Birthday and 75th Wedding Anniversary.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Regina is survived by:  Husband Alex (Whitey); son, Pat Terick and wife, Judy, of Augusta, KS;  daughters Diana Rankin and husband, Larry, of Franklin, NC, and  Regina Yaros and husband, Kent, of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren:  Megan Vittitow (Jeremy), Joe Terick (Brooke), Teran Wilkins (JJ), Paige Hebda (Daniel), Rachel Yaros, and Josh Yaros; great grandchildren:  Samuel, Cecilia, Lucia, Simmone, Lydia, Levi, Alex, Brielle, Aiden,  Grant, Nora, Elliott, and Madison.
