Ricky H. Vernon, age 69, of Blairstown, NJ died Sunday, November 30, 2025 at home in Blairstown. Ricky was born June 19, 1956 in Phillipsburg, NJ. He is the son of the late Harold C. and Joyce (Spangenberg) Vernon. In addition to his parents, Ricky is also predeceased by his nephew Shawn Vernon and brother-in-law Roger Perrine
He was employed by Union Paving Construction for 25 years as a heavy highway assistant superintendent.
He loved the sport of wrestling watching his son’s many achievements and now his grandchildren playing sports. Rick had a great love for music and fishing. He also loved playing with his grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy!
He enjoyed his time restoring and driving his classic 1974 Ford F-350 Highboy
He is survived by his loving wife: Carol (Perrine) Vernon, and their three sons, Trevor Vernon and his wife Kristina of North Carolina, Cory Vernon and his wife Rebecca of Blairstown, NJ and Owen Vernon and his wife Erika of Virginia. Seven grandchildren: Logan, Emily, Declan, Maddox, Roland, Miles and Teagan. Many nieces and nephews and their spouses, whom he loved dearly. His sisters, Melody Vernon of Belvidere, NJ, Virginia Wood Smith and husband Bradley of Georgia, Dorothy Wood Wyckoff and her husband David of Washington, NJ. His in-laws: Dorman Perrine and his wife Donna of Vienna, NJ, Dawn Perrine Kern and her husband Richard of Oxford, NJ and Barbara Longacre Perrine of Bangor, PA.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 4 – 8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Chaplin Mario Spadaro officiating. Burial will be in Lower Valley Union Cemetery, Route 513, Califon. NJ following the service.
