Ervin E. Watters, lifelong farmer and family man passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 in Hackettstown, NJ. He was 92.
Ervin was born July 19, 1929 in Penwell, NJ and attended a one room schoolhouse in Beattystown. He attended Hackettstown High School where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He successfully ran Maple Row Farms with his sons Joe and Jim by his side. The family farm was his passion. He was a lifelong member of Rockport Presbyterian Church where he was an ordained elder and trustee. Most of all, he was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Ervin is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Joan H. Watters. Together they raised five wonderful children. Daughter Susan and husband Raymond Gould, son Joseph and wife Linda Watters, son William Watters and companion Laura Bussard, son James and wife Melissa Watters, daughter Krista Simonet and fiancé Christopher Gibson.
Ervin was also blessed with five beautiful grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Grandson Jacob and wife Marie Watters, grandson Joseph and wife Ashlyn Watters, grandson Benjamin Watters, grandson Ryan Watters, granddaughter Jamie and husband Jack Surowiec, great granddaughter Mia Surowiec and two nephews Edward and Jeffrey Watters.
Ervin was predeceased by his parents Earl and Martha Watters and his brother H. Robert Watters
A celebration of his life will be held at Rockport Presbyterian Church, 395 Rockport Road, Port Murray, NJ 07865 on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:00 am.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rockport Presbyterian Church.
