| Alice L. Whedon passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on October 18, 1930, in Illinois, Alice’s life was a testament to love, faith, and service.
In 1949, she married Royd Whedon, with whom she shared a beautiful life full of love and laughter, raising seven children and serving as foster parents. Their home was rich with tradition, warmth, and the delicious aroma of Alice’s cherished Polish dishes, including her signature potato dumplings. Alice’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her family. She dedicated her career to serving in baby clinics, working in Warren County public nursing, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many. Her compassion also shone through in her personal life, as she lovingly cared for her mother for many years while living in Florida. Alice was a devoted member of her church, where her faith guided her life and inspired her acts of kindness, love, and support for others. Her family will always remember her vibrant personality, the love she poured into every meal she cooked, and her unwavering devotion to her family, community, and faith. A celebration of Alice’s life will be held on Sunday, January 19 – 2 to 4 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 20 at Our Lady of the Mountain Church, Long Valley at 11 am with burial to follow at Our Lady of the Mountain Cemetery, Long Valley. In honor of her legacy, contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN. |
Alice’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her love and faith will continue to inspire her family for generations to come.
