Zigmund Markiewicz, age 97, of Hackettstown died Wednesday, February 5, 2020. Zigmund was born July 12, 1922 in Roslyn, NY. He is the son of the late Peter and Florence (Maciejak) Markiewicz. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Helen in 1989, his two brothers, Kasmer and Theodore Markiewicz, and four sisters; Helen Swander, Sophie Dmoch, Rose Markiewicz, and Emily Dziomba.
He served in the Army during World War II. He was employed by Plumber Local Union #200, Long Island, NY as a Plumber.

He is survived by his devoted son, Peter Markiewicz and wife Mary, his loving daughter, Jane Berton and husband Joseph, four grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Alex and Dana, one great grandchild, Jake.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Monday, February 10 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ with Father Damian Tomiczek officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY

Visitation will be Monday, February 10 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
