Retzios, Jordan R. December 14, 2001 - September 5, 2023

Jordan Robert Retzios, aged 21, of Mount Olive, New Jersey, embarked on his final journey on September 5, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a profound impact on all the lives he touched. Born in Denville and raised in the heart of Mount Olive, Jordan was loved for his outgoing and charismatic nature. His ability to strike up engaging conversations and bring smiles to faces was a gift he generously shared with everyone he met. Jordan possessed a compassionate heart, always asked the right questions, and looked out for those around him. His curiosity and appreciation for life at a young age led him on many adventures in which he graciously involved the people he loved.

Jordan always had a passion for hiking and outdoor activities. He also had a deep-seated interest in music and computer software, constantly honing his skills and pushing the boundaries of his interests both in school and in his personal life. He was always willing to share his passions with the people he knew, and he was not a stranger to expanding his horizons. At times Jordan’s boundless spirit led him into mischief, but these shenanigans made for the familiar distinguished and joyful young boy that always did his best to brighten people’s days. Jordan always kept this endearing spirit to his final days.

Jordan leaves behind a loving family that includes his mother and father, Patricia Taylor and George Retzios, his three older brothers: Taylor, Cameron, and Carrington, his grandparents, Lazaros Retzios and Thalia Retzios, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jordan is now reunited in eternal life with his relatives whom cared for him deeply, Nancy Taylor and David Taylor, as well as other departed relatives who held a special place in his heart.

Behind Jordan’s vibrant spirit was a difficult underlying battle with addiction in his later life. He fought with unwavering determination to try and overcome this challenge for himself and those around him, while always keeping an aura of positivity. In his memory, we invite you to make a donation to Avenues Recovery Center at Bucks and Recovery Centers of America, organizations that provide support and hope to those struggling with addiction.

During this moment of sorrow, let us fondly recall Jordan with joy, from the lively young boy to the noble young man he became; commemorating the extraordinary young soul he embodied and the indelible mark he left on each of our hearts. His absence will be deeply felt, his memory forever treasured, and his legacy of love enduring in our lives.

Services to be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown. NJ.

You left an indelible mark on the human spirit, one which knows when to laugh and when to cry, when to speak and when to listen, when to smile and when to frown, when to trust and when to question. Most importantly, however, you knew the boundless nature of love, cast like a wide net that captures people’s hearts and intrigues their imagination, much like the way you intrigued mine. Your brother Taylor, my best friend, is the reason I ever met you and your wonderful family, and it is my promise to you, now and in the afterlife, that I will show the same love to your family in the same way you showed me in times of need and in times of prosperity. You were wise and precocious well beyond your years and surely eclipsed all reasonable expectations of a young man. I’m sincerely heartbroken.

Ps: I always thought it was cute that you loved My Little Pony.

Your friend until my end, and beyond.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Jordan, but from middle school I know him as one of the most intelligent people I have ever met and a truly kind soul. Jordan, thank you for opening up to me and letting me do the same in difficult times. I hope your soul finds its peace

Hey Jordan. I know im a little late but, wherever you are, you definitely know Ive done nothing but cry over you for the past 195 days.

Anyway. You mean so much to me and knowing you when I was a kid and you were older than me will always be everything to me. I looked up to you so much and I told all my friends about you for years and I still do now. It wasnt supposed to be you, man.

I will always remember you bonding with me over MLP and how you told me Winter Wrap Up was a banger. I will never forget all the silly jokes we made together and I will always think about how much you impacted me as a person.

I love you so much, please be resting well 🙁 <3
